Welcome to our Wild Workout Wednesday link up! Each week I link up with Angelena Marie from Angelena Marie: Happy, Healthy & Balanced , Annmarie at The FIt Foodie Mamma, and Michelle at Fruition Fitness to bring you workout ideas, motivation, inspiration and recipes to try. Fitness is so much more than the thirty minutes of exercise you should be striving for daily. Fitness should be a way of life in the journey to overall health. That doesn’t mean you HAVE to run thirty minutes a day…that doesn’t mean you have to lift weights…that doesn’t mean you HAVE to do anything…but I think for any and all of us it means we HAVE to move more when we can. (remember that whole #wycwyc concept?? Thanks Carla!). And let’s face it, we will all have days where we can’t fit in a formal workout and that’s ok!
I like to fit in small doses of exercise throughout the day. I really loved this when I worked a desk job but even now as a mom always on the move it helps to keep my blood flowing, energy up, and make me feel more active.
I pick one move a day and strive to get in 100 reps. What?!?! You say…a 100 reps…hold on 🙂 let me explain. I’ll pick push ups for example. Then I’ll break it into 10 reps. I’ll do 10 reps when the boys go down for a nap, 10 reps while they eat breakfast (they think it is hilarious to watch me), 10 reps while they play…10 reps, 10 times a day. Then perhaps the next day I’ll pick squats…same deal 10-20 reps repeated. Or maybe lunges while I take the boys on the walk. See 100 reps isn’t that crazy!
And I love this view of things because I still get in some good muscle work but it doesn’t seem so formal and if I don’t get a 30 minute chunk of time to workout because let’s face it that sometimes happens…it is OKAY!! I thought I’d give you a Monday through Friday list of exercises. I’d love for you to join me and take a picture of your #wycwyc 100 rep challenge.
